FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE

Commemorating the 300th Anniversary of the composer's birth, from the Moscow Tchaikovsky Concert Hall comes a concert performance of Gluck's 'Orfeo ed Euridice' (the Paris version of 1774 where one significant change was the use of a high tenor - haute contra - instead of a castrato, a concept which beggars belief today).

The Musica Viva Moscow Chamber Orchestra with

William Lacey (conductor)
Colin Lee (tenor)
Deborah York (soprano)
Sophie Junker (soprano)

and the Intrada Vocal Ensemble.

About time (I'll leave the inserted adjective to a northern accent). Debbie says she'll have words and hopefully enlighten those Russians stupid enough to believe their government's rubbish propaganda. I wish her luck but I won't be going there for the foreseeable future...

It seems almost unfair to call them all stupid when it is ignorance and fear at work under the master manipulators.

Mind you, there's a good number here believing regressive propaganda and bald lies you know. You can call them stupid, and that would be an understatement.

Yes, it applies everywhere. Debbie is constantly coming up with pertinent examples paralleling Putin's lie machine But where the difference lies is that there the control is becoming total(itarian), terrorism (of minorities and other nations) is state-sponsored and control of the press and censorship are becoming absolute. The bottom line is, where would you rather live? Anyone who brushes aside parallels with the rise of Hitler is living in a fantasy world.
